I Am The Way

I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
~ John 14:6

If you were to die today, where would you spend eternality? Most people think they are going to heaven. But how can you be sure? Many think that if they are a good person, they will go to heaven. If that were the case, then Jesus wouldn't have had to die on the cross.

Many think that going to church qualifies them into going to heaven. Satan's in our churches too prowling amongst our services to hinder people from worshiping God. Satan knows the Bible better than any living man and he has something a lot of Christians don't have - he has the fear of God in Him. But Satan isn't going to heaven, so what makes it certain that you will be going to heaven? So you pay tithes...so did the Pharisees. You may be able to buy your way into a lot of places, but you won't be able to buy your way into heaven.

God makes it very clear to us on what is required to spend eternality with Him. His plan of salvation for us is found right in the Bible. The following plan of salvation is taken from the New Living Bible. The salvation plan is also available in the King James Version.

In The Beginning Call To Repentance Baptism of the Holy Ghost
His Purpose Steps Toward Salvation The Second Coming
We Are Sinners Water Baptism Sinner's Prayer

In The Beginning

John 1:1-3 In the beginning the Word already existed. He was with God and he was God. He was in the beginning with God. He created everything there is.

  Born Of A Virgin
Luke 1:26-35 In the sixth month of Elizabeth's pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, [27] to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. [28] Gabriel appeared to her and said, "Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you!" [29] Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. [30] "Don't be afraid, Mary," the angel told her, "for God has decided to bless you! [31] You will become pregnant and have a son, and you are to name him Jesus. [32] He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David. [33] And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!" [34] Mary asked the angel, "But how can I have a baby? I am a virgin". [35] The angel replied, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will over shadow you. So the baby born to you will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God."

  Became Man
Philippians 2:5-11 Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had. [6] Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God. [7] He made himself nothing; he took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form. [8] And in human form he obediently humbled himself even further by dying a criminal's death on a cross. [9] Because of this, God raised him up to the heights of heaven and gave him a name that is above every other name, [10] so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11] and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  Was Sinless
Hebrews 4:15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same temptations we do, yet he did not sin.

Died on the Cross For Our Sins
Colossians 2:14 He cancelled the record that contained the charges against us. He took it and destroyed it by nailing it to Christ's cross.

Rose From The Dead on the Third Day
Luke 24:46 Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah must suffer and die and rise again from the dead on the third day.

  Ascended into Heaven
1 Peter 3:22 Now Christ has gone to heaven. He is seated in the place of honor next to God, and all the angels and authorities and powers are bowing before him.

His Purpose
Luke 19:10 And I, the Son of Man, have come to seek and save those like him who are lost.

John 3:17 God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.

We Are Sinners
Romans 5:8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

1 John 1:8, 9 If we say we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. [9] But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong.

Call to Repentance
Mark 2:17 When Jesus heard this, he told them, Healthy people don't need a doctor - sick people do. I have cone to call sinners, not those who think they are already good enough.

Matthew 3:8 Prove by the way you live that you have really turned from your sins and turned to God.

Matthew 4:17 Turn from your sins and turn to God, because the Kingdom of Heaven is near.

Acts 3:19 Now turn from your sins and turn to God, so you can be cleansed of your sins.

John 1:11-13 Even in his own land and among his own people, he was not accepted. [12] But to all who believe him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. [13] They are reborn! This is not a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan - this rebirth comes from God.

Steps toward Salvation
Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, along with your entire household.

Acts 2:21 And anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Matthew 7:21 Not all people who sound religious are really godly. They may refer to me as 'Lord' but they still won't enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The decisive issue is whether they obey my Father in heaven.

2 Timothy 3:15-16 You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. [16] All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right.

John 3:3, 6 Jesus replied, I assure you, unless you are born again, you can never see the Kingdom of God." "The truth is, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. [6] Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven.

John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. [17] God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it. [18] There is no judgment awaiting those who trust him. But those who do not trust him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God.

Water Baptism
Matthew 3:13-15 Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John. [14] But John didn't want to baptize him. "I am the one who needs to be baptized by you," he said, "so why are you coming to me?" [15] But Jesus said, It must be done, because we must do everything that is right. So then John baptized him.

Acts 2:38 Each of you must turn from your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 4:10-12 "Let me clearly state to you and to all the people of Israel that he was healed in the name and power of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, the man you crucified, but who God raised from the dead. [11] For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, "The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone". [12] There is salvation in no one else. There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them."

Acts 19:5 As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Acts 10:48 So he gave orders for them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.

Mark 16:15-16 And then he told them, Go into the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere. [16] Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refused to believe will be condemned.

Baptism of Holy Ghost
Luke 3:16 John answered their question by saying, "I baptize with water; but someone is coming soon who is greater than I am - so much greater that I am not even worthy to be his slave. He will baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire."

John 14:15-17 If you love me, obey my commands. [16] And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, who will never leave you. [17] He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world at large cannot receive him, because it isn't looking for him and doesn't recognize him. But you do, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.

Luke 11:13 If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.

Acts 2:1-4 On the day of Pentecost, seven weeks after Jesus' resurrection, the believers were meeting together in one place. [2] Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm in the skies above them, and it filled the house when they were meeting. [3] Then, what looked liked flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. [4] And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.

Acts 19:2-6 "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" he asked them. "No" they replied, "we don't know what you mean. We haven't even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." [3] Then what baptism did you experience?" he asked. And they replied, "the baptism of John." [4] Paul said, "John's baptism was to demonstrate a desire to turn from sin and turn to God. John himself told the people to believe in Jesus, the one John said would come later." [5] As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. [6] Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied.

After Baptism
John 14:26 But when the Father sends the Counselor as my representative - and by Counselor I mean the Holy Spirit - he will teach you everything and will remind you of every thing I myself have told you.

1 John 2:27 But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don't need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you all things, and what he teaches is true - it is not a lie. So continue in what he taught you, and continue to live in Christ.

Acts 1:8 But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere - in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Luke 12:11, 12 And when you are brought to trial in the synagogues and before rulers and authorities, don't worry about what to say in your defense, [12] for the Holy Spirit will teach you what needs to be said even as you are standing there.

Romans 14:17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:17 In the days, God said, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

Exodus 31:3 I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, intelligence, and skill in all kinds of crafts.

1 Corinthians 2:10 But we know these things because God has revealed them to us by his Spirit, and his Spirit searches out everything and shows us even God's deep secrets.

1 Corinthians 2:13 When we tell you this, we do not use words of human wisdom. We speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit's words to explain spiritual truths.

Revelation 2:7 Anyone who is willing to hear should listen to the Spirit and understand what the Spirit is saying to the churches. Everyone who is victorious will eat from the tree of life in the paradise of God.

The Second Coming
Galatians 1:3-9 May grace and peace be yours from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. [4] He died for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live. [5] That is why all glory belongs to God through all the ages of eternity. Amen. [6] I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who in his love and mercy called you to share the eternal life he gives through Christ. You are already following a different way [7] that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who twist and change the truth concerning Christ. [8] Let God's curse fall upon anyone, including myself, who preaches any other message than the one we told you about. Even if an angel comes from heaven and preaches any other message, let him be forever cursed. [9] I will say it again: If anyone preaches any other gospel than the one you welcomed, let God's curse fall upon that person.

2 Thessalonians 1:7-10 And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven. He will come with his mighty angels [8] in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don't know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus. [9] They will be punished with everlasting destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power [10] when he comes to receive glory and praise from his holy people. And you will be among those praising him on that day, for you believed what we testified about him.

1 Peter 1:22-25 Now you can have sincere love for each other as brothers and sisters because you were cleansed from your sins when you accepted the truth of the Good News. So see to it that you really do love each other intensely with all your hearts. [23] For you have been born again. Your new life did not come from your earthly parents because the life they gave you will end in death. But this new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. [24] As the prophet says, "People are like grass that dies away; their beauty fades as quickly as the beauty of wildflowers. The grass withers, and the flowers fall away. [25] But the word of the Lord will last forever." And that word is the Good News that was preached to you.

1 Thessalonians. 1:10 And they speak of how you are looking forward to the coming of God's Son from heaven - Jesus - whom God raised from the dead. He is the one who has rescued us from the terrors of the coming judgment.

Revelation 1:18 I am the living one who died. Look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.

1 Peter 4:17, 18 For the time has come for judgment, and it must begin first among God's own children. And if even we Christians must be judged, what terrible fate awaits those who have never believed God's God News? [18] And "If the righteous are barely saved, what chance will the godless and sinners have?"

James 1:21-25 So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the message God has planted in your hearts, for it is strong enough to save your souls. [22] And remember, it is a message to obey, not just to listen to. If you don't obey, you are only fooling yourself. [23] For if you just listen and don't obey, it is like looking at your face in a mirror but doing nothing to improve your appearance. [24] You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. [25] But if you keep looking steadily into God's perfect law - the law that sets you free - and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
