Printer Friendly Version

John 4:1-14
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

Jesus said to this woman, "If you knew the gift of God."

"ARE YOU AWARE OF GOD'S GIFTS?"

I have mentioned only two gifts that God has given unto us so far:

1. The Greatest Gift ever given - Jesus Christ Himself

JESUS CHRIST is the greatest gift that God could ever give unto us. God did not just send a gift but He became the gift.

My gift to you as a reminder of the greatest gift - "Masonry nail tied with a ribbon

2. The Gift of God's Spirit unto us

Think about it again for a moment - God giving mere mortals a portion of His Spirit!

3. The Gift of the Power to Become Sons of God

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

2 Timothy

7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Paul is telling Timothy that God has given unto us power

Acts 1

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Jesus told His disciples that he would give them power.

Acts 2
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Note of Caution:

Acts 8
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

4. The Gift of Righteousness

Romans 5:
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

Romans 3:10
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Isaiah 64:
6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Yet God gives unto us righteousness.

It is not in man to direct his ways, HOWEVER:

God gives us the power to become and

The Gift of righteousness

5. The Gift of Faith

Romans 12
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

A Measure of Faith

6. The Gift of Grace

Ephesians 2
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

You don't deserve it but I'm going to give it to you……………………………
