Sept 13, 2006 - Former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger warned the U.S. and Europe to move beyond their disagreements over the Iraq war and face the greater threat of a "war of civilizations" that is brewing. This generation is seeing the erosion of respect for national sovereignty. Trans- national groups like Hamas are the real danger, and it will become critical with the rise of a nuclear-armed Middle East. Kissinger said, "We now know that we face the imperative of building a new world order or potential global catastrophe. It cannot be done alone by either side of the Atlantic. Is that realization sufficient to regenerate a common purpose?"

Dec. 6, 2007 - The United States has resisted signing the United Nation's "Law of the Sea Treaty" for 25 years because opponents say it surrenders our national sovereignty and could be the next step to world government.

The U.N. treaty governs the law of the seas - not just ocean access by military and commercial vessels - but control of natural resources from fishing rights and oil exploration to deep sea mining.

The treaty was rejected by President Reagan and signed by President Clinton. At present, 154 nations have accepted the treaty. President Bush is now urging urging the Senate to ratify it.

In final State of the Union, Bush reiterates call for democratic Palestine

Jan. 29, 2008 - In President Bush's final State of the Union speech, he spoke about problems with the economy, conditions in Iraq, and other pressing issues. He also mentioned the importance of the Mid-East peace negotiations.

"The time has come for a Holy Land where a democratic Israel and a democratic Palestine live side-by-side in peace." Bush said Monday night, standing before Congress in the final State of the Union message of his presidency.

Iran Is Reported to Test New Centrifuges to Make Atomic Fuel

Feb. 8, 2008 - Iran is testing new centrifuges known as IR-2s which could be used to produce nuclear weapons.

Reports about the new centrifuges were made just two days after the director of national intelligence, Mike McConnell, told Congress that he had regrets about how the National Intelligence Estimate had been written.

McConnell added that Iran's refusal to halt uranium enrichment meant that it still posed a potential nuclear threat. Source: N.Y. Times

Ahmadinejad's war of words with 'filthy' Israel

Jan. 31, 2008 - In a televised speech Iranian President Mahmoud Achmedinejad advised world leaders to abandon their support of Israel, the "filthy Zionist entity," because its days are numbered.

Ahmadinejad has made his hostility to the nation of Israel clear on several occasions, threatening it with annihilation repeatedly since becoming president of the Islamic republic in 2005 and denying that the Nazi holocaust ever took place. Source: Telegraph - UK

For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. Matthew 24:27

There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Luke 21:25-26

Behold the fig tree and all the trees; as soon as they put forth leaves, you see it and know for yourselves that summer is now near. So you also, when you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near. Truly I say to you, that this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Luke 21:29-31

Jerusalem, Jerusalem...

THE DAYS OF NOAH:

What were the days of Noah really like? What was life like before the flood?

A couple of days before Jesus was crucified, his disciples asked him "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"

They wanted to know, when Jesus would return and what would be the signs before his return? Jesus replied:

..."As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come." Matthew 24:37-42

Blood-Red Moon

The Old and New Testaments speak of a blood-red moon prior to Jesus Christ's return.

Joel 2:31 (KJV) The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.

Acts 2:20 (KJV) The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come.

The Jewish Talmud (book of tradition/interpretation) says, "When the moon is in eclipse, it is a bad omen for Israel. If its face is as red as blood, [it is a sign that] the sword is coming to the world."

Total-eclipse "blood-red" moons have been rare in history although there was one earlier this year on March 3 (Purim). The next total-eclipse/ "blood-red" moon will occur on February 21, 2008. (Thursday of this week)

Having another total eclipse this close to a previous one is extremely rare too; to say the least, we will be watching that day with much interest.

News From the Last Two Blood-Red Moons

During the "blood-red" moon of July 16, 2000, President Clinton, Prime Minister Barak and President Arafat were participating in the Middle East Summit at Camp David from July 11-25.
