| We
at Riverside Apostolic Church would like to thank each and every veteran
from the bottom of our hearts for the freedom that we enjoy today.
Freedom is never free. A great price has been paid for the freedoms
we as Americans are so privileged to enjoy. Men and women who served
in war time, and in peace time, and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice,
because of You . . . We have our freedom.
The price of freedom has always been high. When this country called,
our veterans answered that call. All gave some and some gave all.
Many men laid down their lives to ensure that the "American
Dream" would come true. The price has been paid by the blood
of thousands and thousands of courageous men and women. That's who
we are remembering and honoring - our nation's war heroes. That's
who we want to thank God for - for those men and women who have
left homes and families and have laid their lives on the line.
Our fellow veterans, you have made the United States this great
country that it is today. You have protected us and kept America
free from sea to shining sea. And so we take this moment and bow
our heads and pray, thank you God for the brave souls who were willing
to sacrifice everything in the name of peace and freedom. May they
find the honor and recognition they deserve. We pray that you will
heal the physical and psychological wounds some of our veterans
have suffered. And may you bring peace and comfort to those who
mourn the loss of comrades, family members, or friends.
To all veterans who have served to keep us free, I won't forget
you or the men who died, who gave that right to me. Thank you veterans
for paying the Greatest Price for our freedom and the freedom of
our children.
To our men in uniform
past, present, and future
God bless you
and thank you.
The fight for freedom has continued to this very day. West Virginia
has been at the forefront of providing men and women to serve in
the armed services. Some are still with us today, others have gone
on to their reward.
